SUMMARY:2020-21 Norwich Rotary Change of Command Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Hey everybody\, for the first time since March\, we’re getting the band back together! \nPlease join us for our annual Change of Command meeting. This year\, it will be held in the great outdoors at the Norwich Memorial Rose Garden. \nThe beautiful Norwich Rose Garden is located on Rockwell Street in Mohegan Park. Situated on two acres of gently sloping parkland\, the garden features 2\,500 rose bushes in 120 varieties. This garden is one of 140 gardens throughout the United States that displays award-winning roses in cooperation with the All American Rose Selections\, Inc. The roses are at their full height during June but continue to blossom throughout the summer. \nDue to COVID concerns\, we will need people to register for this event by Sunday\, June 21st\, so that we can let the city know how many tables and chairs we’ll need. \nDue to an increase in food prices\, the cost of this meal will be $20. Hope to see you there. \nPlease either buy your tickets now\, or RSPVP to pay by check later. \nPre-payment is encouraged. \nSee you there!

SUMMARY:Peace Pole Re-dedication 2019
DESCRIPTION:In 2017\, the Norwich Community installed four Peace Poles\, sponsored by the four Rotary Groups in the community.  A Peace Pole is an internationally-recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams of the entire human family\, standing vigil in silent prayer for peace on earth. Each Peace Pole bears the message May Peace Prevail on Earth in different languages on each of its four sides that represent the languages and cultures that make up our City. There are tens of thousands of Peace Poles in nearly every country (180) in the world dedicated as monuments to peace and our shared values. People of all faiths have been involved in Peace Pole dedications\, including the XIV Dalai Lama\, Mother Teresa\, President Jimmy Carter\, Deepak Chopra and John Denver\, as well as mayors\, clubs and Girl Scouts. \n

DESCRIPTION:Come join us as we celebrate the many cultures that make up our Norwich community. Our goal to increase awareness of our area’s cultural diversity\, and to highlight the area’s multicultural resources. The event is hosted by the Norwich Rotary Club\, Rotary Community Corps\, and the Norwich Sunrise Rotary Club.\n\n\n \n\n\nThe event starts at 5 pm when the ethnic foods\, highlighting our area restaurants\, can be tried as you enjoy the music and dancing from countries around the world.\n\n\n \n\n\nAt 6:45 pm pm we will present the Lottie B. SUMMARY:2019 Norwich Rotary Golf Tournament
DESCRIPTION:We take our golf seriously. We also take seriously the unique opportunity that the Norwich Rotary Golf Tournament provides to benefit MANY community organizations. \nLast year we raised $14\,000\, which was dispersed to heartfelt programs\, including Amber Alert programs for kids through age 18 and warm winter coats for families in need. Most of the funds are channeled back into our local community\, however\, a portion is forwarded on to Rotary International to help with projects involving fresh drinking water or the eradication of polio. \nPlease join us for a great day of fellowship\, fun\, and wonderful causes at the Norwich Golf Course.
