Nancy shared some interesting facts about actress Betty White.

Announcements:

Invoices have been sent out soon for dues.  Please pay promptly. 

Celebrate Cultural Diversity event will be coming in September.  If you care to serve on this event committee contact Roz Etra. 

The Rotary Golf Tournament will take place on September 9th at the Norwich Golf Club.  Player 4-somes, sponsors, prizes, volunteers are needed.

Please bring spare clean egg cartons and give them to Bonnie Johnson.  

If you know of a speaker for one of our meetings, please contact Kevin Wickless or Alexis Kahn to get on the schedule.

If there is a Rotarian who is sick or going through a tough time let the Sunshine Committee know and contact Mary Richardson or Nancy Gentes.

Membership Minute:  Stan Lucas

Stan said the golf tournament sponsors are an excellent source for recruiting new members.  Go get em’!

Happy Dollars:  Andy Grant

Andy said he ran into his old friend Jimmy Castle who was wearing a neck brace.  He handed out gift cards to members who get golf tournament sponsors.

Andrew Nollman went to a Billy Idol concert with his wife and ate a great meal at Tuscony at Mohegan Sun.  He’s looking forward to a vacation next week.

Stan Lucas encouraged all to look on Bob Dees website.  Lots of good photos of historic Norwich.  He also had good news about his throat not needing additional surgery.

Anna Lucas told a story of visiting her Uncle Nick in Canada and driving an old VW with a manual transmission back home.

Suzy Hurlbert now has a Canadian passport once again.  She had a great vacation on Cape Cod with her daughter and her boyfriend.  She went to a Brandy Carlisle concert.  ECAR has also developed an emergency fund much like the Rotary Happy Dollars fund to help people in need.

Paul Gaffney said his grandson is 17 and is a senior at NFA. 

Barry Shead had dinner with is grand kids.  The Celebrate Diversity event needs food vendors.  He thanked Andrew Nollman for updating his Rotary profile.

Rodney Green explained where he’s been over the past 3 weeks.  He was very ill in the hospital with gall bladder issues and lost 15 pounds in the process.  He needs to return to the hospital in October for more procedures. 

Bonnie Johnson had fun with her husband traveling throughout the New England coast on their boat.  Upon their return they went to Nashville to buy a car.

Auction: Mike Cooney will donate $20.00.

Nancy Gentes, Jim O’Shea & Bill Champagne could not find the Ace of Spades.  Bob Reed was the winner of Barry’s ARC Cookies!
