Bert Gager, Norwich Rotarian

Charles Adelbert Gager was born in Bozrah on the nation’s centennial, July 4th, 1876. Bert Gager was an undertaker and operated Gager’s Funeral Home, located at 136 Sachem Street in Norwich.

In 1907, he married Mira Kallion.

On June 10th, 1920, Bert Gager was an outfielder for the Norwich Rotary Club when they lost a 10-5 game to the New London Rotary Club. Gager lost a footrace to Joe Worth at the 1922 Norwich Rotary Farm Day. Many accounts of meetings from the period note him as an accomplished singer.

Bert Gager passed away in Norwich on January 22nd, 1956.
