Dr. Vincent Laudone, 2022 Norwich Native Son

The Norwich Rotary Clubs and the Norwich Woman’s City Club are proud to announce the 2022 Norwich Native Son is Chief of Surgery at the Josie Robertson Surgery Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, Dr. Vincent Laudone.

Laudone grew up in Norwich and was a standout swimmer at Norwich Free Academy. From NFA he went on to Dartmouth and then Georgetown Medical School and then did his urology residency at the University of Virginia. He then moved to Glastonbury and joined a urology group at Hartford Hospital.  He was recruited by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute, a world-renowned cancer center, to develop their robotics program and has been commuting weekly from his Glastonbury home for the last 14 years.

He went on to develop the Josie Robertson Surgery Center at MSK and is currently the chief of surgery there.  He is also a Professor of Urology at Cornell Medical School.  He has performed over 5,000 robotic prostatectomies and is sought for his expertise from throughout the country.  Many people of note, including celebrity weatherman Al Roker, are among his patients.

He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society and is a Clinical Fellow of the American Cancer Society.

The award will be presented on June 1st, 2022 at a luncheon to be held at noon at the Holiday Inn, Norwich.
