Emery Davis served as the 20th President of the Norwich Rotary Club, serving from 1939-40.
Davis was born November 24th, 1892 in Malden, Massachusetts.
He worked as a Secretary at the YMCA in during the 1920s and ’30s.
First wife, Muriel Hunt Davis passed away after a long illness in 1925 at age 33. He married his second wife, Edith in Maine in 1928. The couple had a son, Robert in 1930.
He was a longtime administrator at Backus Hospital.
Davis was recognized in the Rotarian in August 1962 for not having missed a meeting in 36 years.
Emery Davis passed away in Norwich on May 1st, 1972. Davis and his wife Edith are buried at Maplewood Cemetary.
