Nancy fellowship last week consisted of a lot of funny facts and quotes.  This week she kept things more serious with some historical facts that happened during the month of August.  Just a few included that in August 2nd 1992 Iran invaded Kuwait.  On August 3rd 1492 Columbus started his voyage to the New World.  On August 4th 1944 Anne Frank was captured by the Nazi’s.  On August 8th the Great Train Robbery took place.  On August 27th 1979 Lord Mountbatten was murdered by the IRA when he was out fishing off the coast of Ireland.

Membership Minute:  Stan Lucas said that the Membership Committee met earlier today and it was suggested that another Yankee Swap Christmas event take place at his Air B&B on Broadway in Norwich in December.  It was also discussed that the club might consider sponsoring a Little League team and place banner around town for more exposure for the club.  Also, brochures are being printed that would promote and give information on the Noon, Sunrise Rotary Clubs as well as the Rotary Community Corps.
