President Mary called the meeting to order @ 12:15pm

Invocation- Gary Young gave an inspiring Invocation which was practice for the invocation he’s giving on 5/2/24 for the National Day of Prayer

Fellowship- Susy Hurlbert gave some history and significance of May Day, May 1st.  Birthday’s- Barry Shead- May 4 & Margarida- May 6.  Guest- Former Rotarian Keith Caplet gave us a visit.  Anniversaries- Andy Grant- 22 yrs & Mike Gordon- 41 yrs

Announcements:

  • Whiskey, Wine & Cigar event is tonight! Still a few tickets left available. Final details next week
  • May 18- Rotary Day of Service. Food packing event
  • June 5- Native Son/Daughter luncheon. Get your tickets!
  • June 19- Rose Garden luncheon
  • June 20- Gemma Moran Food Center work day- 1pm-3pm
  • June 26th- Change of Command
  • Sept 4th- Golf Tournament. All types of sponsors and volunteers are needed.  Brochures are available now

 

Happy Dollars w/ Nancy Gentes

  • Nancy G- Great to Keith C. Have a great event tonight
  • Bill C- Attended Evening w/ an Author. Had a great time and Lottie was being recognized
  • Paul G- Saw an editorial that Rodney co-wrote. Also Paul has an idea re: repurposing old political signs
  • Pat M- Is a bit socially uncomfortable and is stretching her comfort level attending event tonite. But is excited to attend!
  • Mary R- Has a friend who has birthday on May 1 and they always call each other on their birthdays
  • Mike M- Welcome Keith. Andrew- congrats on another successful event
  • Bary S- Welcome Keith. Andrew- congrats on another successful event. Just got back from Las Vegas and they renewed their vows with an Elvis impersonator.  And is leaving for a Bermuda cruise on Friday.

The following people have been approved by the Board for membership.  Jane Ryan-1st posting and James Hyman-2nd posting.

Auction- Kathryn has 2 games up auction.  Sequence went to Paul Gaffney and Tiny Cornhole went to President Mary

Lottery- 3 pulls… Cary T, Susy H and Ryan T… and no winners.  President Mary won the ARC cookies and graciously passed out to the Rotarians

President Mary closed the meeting, leading us in the 4 way test at 1:10pm
