James Moore – 1972 Norwich Native Son

The 1972 Norwich Native Son Dr. James Moore was a World War II veteran.

He’s a member of the Murray State Athletics Hall of Fame, and led the Racers to their first ever Bowl Appearance, a 21-21 tie with Sul Ross State in the 1947 Tangerine Bowl. James Moore is also a member of the Southern Connecticut State University Hall of Fame, he coached the Owls baseball team for 27 seasons.

The SCSU Field House, the James Moore Center, bears his name.
