For today’s fellowship Susy gave a brief touch on the Founding Fathers, the Revolutionary War and some surprising modern lessons that come from both history and the musical Hamilton.
Announcements:
Native Son/Daughter luncheon will be coming up on June 10th. Jeffery Rose is this year’s recipient. The lunch will take place at the Holiday Inn Express that day.
Rotary Day of Service is May 16th so mark your calendars and help pack meals at the United Methodist Church in Ledyard.
Please bring spare clean egg cartons and give them to Bonnie Johnson.

Susy started thing off with a big congratulations to Andrew Nollman and his committee for a wonderful Whisky, Wine & Cigar event!
Andy Grant complimented Susy on her fellowship talk and gave praise for Mike Matera’s son on his athletic prowess.
Mike Matera also gave for the great Whisky, Wine & Cigar event and what a great time it was. He also told a story of buying oil that is only made for antique tractors and trucks that he still owns.
Bill Champagne congratulated Andrew on the event on Wednesday. He also said that his grandson is an expert Lacrosse player at Williams. He went to watch his latest match where he broke the all-time school scoring record.
Steve Martin had happy dollars for Andrew’s Whiskey, Wine and Cigar night. He even won 3 bottles of booze in the raffle! Steve also gave a quick update on the Rotary Clock Project. He and Susy met with town officials and the construction should start soon! There is still time to buy a sponsorship’s for $300 & $500!
Andy Nollmam gave a quick rundown on how the Whisky, Wine and Cigar event went. 78 tickets were sold. He thanked Bonnie Johnson and Kathryn Tracey for selling so many raffle tickets! He’s estimates the net proceeds will total $8,500.00! He thanked members who supported the event but said that only 50% of the club actually supported it.
Mike Cooney was sorry he missed the Whisky event and hopes to make it next time. He also had good news that his daughter is excelling at softball.
Bill Champagne reports that Pat Marshall has now entered Hospice care. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Auction: Cary Trantalis auctioned off a pair of Yeti drink tumblers! Susy Hurlbert got a huge deal at $20.00 for the pair! Yeti is good stuff!
